Questions owners ask before hiring a VSL copywriter

What actually makes a VSL convert?

A VSL converts when the viewer sees themselves in the first few seconds and keeps watching because they need to know how it ends. The words carry most of it, and they only work when the positioning underneath is right. Positioning gets set before anyone writes a line.

Why isn't my VSL converting?

Most VSLs that fall flat were written on top of weak positioning. The writer learned the offer fast and wrote to the surface problem instead of the real reason the buyer hasn't solved this yet. The fix is almost always the positioning, not the words.

Should I hire a VSL copywriter?

If all you get is a script, you're buying the easy 90% and missing the part that decides whether it earns a dime. You're better off with one person who owns the positioning and then builds the VSL and the rest of the funnel off it.

What should I look for before I hire one?

Watch what their first line does, and ask how they decide positioning before they write. If they jump straight to the script after a quick look at your product, that's your warning. The ones worth hiring put most of their work into figuring out who your buyer really is before they write a word.
